From Here On In

Here we are a week into April already. Evenings are lighter, days are longer and my holidays for this summer are booked. (Eeeek). 

With that comes an innate pressure and desire to have a mini life overhaul. It's time to put the Easter eggs down and bring out some next level motivation. The year has started well and I'm living and believing in the mantra the harder you work, the luckier you get. The only problem with that is i'm in a period of now working 7 days a week and juggling a degree. 

Honestly, why do I do this to myself?! 

Everyday is a new learning curve personally and professionally and that means re-formulating a little balance and coping strategies. I want to be fitter, stronger and more confident. Cook more, read more, travel more and excel at it all. 

In order of fulfilling my sky high expectations, random gym sessions, a random blogging schedule,  too many late nights and too much chocolate are strategies that are going to cut it. Being the most productive, organised, and stress free version of myself in this period takes thought and routine, so here I thought I'd share some rituals that are allowing me to balance out chaos and be the healthiest, happiest me right now. 

Matcha Lattes

A little bit of what you fancy does you good. Right? Giving me a boost when I need it, I now can't imagine a time before Matcha. It's my new favourite alternative to coffee and absolutely powered up with goodness. Made with Soya or Almond Milk it's SO delicious when you need a pick me up with a hint of sweetness. 

Scented Candles

Lighting a few candles and snuggling up in bed with a boxset is something I try really hard to do everynight for around 40 minutes before I go to sleep. It's helps me switch off and subdued lighting and my favourite scents signal to my brain it's time to shut down for the day.


I could get lost for hours planning holidays and browsing photos of pictuesque skylines. Travel is something I'm constantly motivated and inspired by, it helps me relaxed and keeps me striving ahead all at the same time.  

Get a Skin Care Routine

I mentioned recently how I'm new to using Kiehl's products but the more I sample the more I'm growing to love the brand. Taking off my make up and scrunching my hair into a bobble is a part of my day I relish. It's feel so good to head to bed with fresh skin and feeling hydrated and calm. One way of doing that is investing in products that make you feel good and help your body recover when while you sleep. 

Get Outside 

If I've been in the office all day, come 6pm I'm desperate for a leg stretch and some air. Sometimes we get so consumed by to-do lists we don't take a break to get outside, look up and take in the day. Minds' need to rest to work best. For me moving my body is the best way to do this. 

Maximise Sleep

I'm the worst at this; getting in bed then scrolling social media and suddenly it's midnight. Everyday I'm trying to be conscious of this habit and just stop. My life won't be directly impacted if I miss Kim Kardashians Snapchat story for 1 day, if I'm shattered and can't concentrate the next day however, well, that might. So phone down, laptop off, over and out.
