Girl, Look After Yourself

Breakfast in bed and a magazine (or book). When was the last time you did that?  Until last week I couldn't actually answer that. 

Sometimes we get so caught up in fulfilling what's planned for the week, days fly over, with not enough hours spent in bed and not enough moments for reflection. A little "well done, that was a great day" minute of clarity, is something I for one, should drop into my thought schedule every once in a while. 

We can eat nourishing food and do sunrise yoga classes, but the benefits won't be fully felt until we slow down and enjoy one thing at a time. I've learned lately you can multitask many things; but don't try to multitask relaxation. Simultaneously Snapchatting, half watching tely, painting my nails, and editing photos... is that relaxation? Or am I kidding myself it's relaxation because I'm sitting on the sofa? 

My ambitions for wanderlusting, creative content, dream career, top uni grades and ermm ABS usually have my brain whirling at a million miles per hour, and not necessarily in sync with my body, which I guess causes a bit of confusion. Showing a bit of self loving in the form of a plant-based breakfast bowl an extra hour duvet time and a pat on the back is a pretty good remedy for inadequacy feelings and on-the-brink-of-a-meltdown vibes that occasionally overflow. 

Deep Breath, a little self belief goes a long way.
